Meet Leah
Zeger
Born and raised in
Houston, Texas, violinist and vocalist Leah
Zeger comes from a family of classical
musicians. Having played the violin since the
age of six, she has a Bachelor of Arts in
Opera Performance from the University of Texas
and currently resides in Austin. She covers many
musical styles including bluegrass, flamenco,
jazz, and blues. While she has maintained a
five-year residency with the Austin Symphony
Orchestra under the direction of renowned
conductor Peter Bay, she demonstrates tremendous
versatility outside of classical music with
numerous groups, including Austin Music Award
winning folk rock band The Hudson's. She has also
performed across Europe, Asia, and North America
with international world-touring fiddle concert
sensation Barrage. |

Last
summer, Leah joined blues guitarist Aaron Loesch
at the Eric Clapton Crossroads Blues Festival in
Chicago in July 2007 alongside prominent artists
such as Alison Krauss and B.B. King.
Zeger performs regularly with WILL TAYLOR AND
STRINGS ATTACHED and appears as a guest
vocalist/violinist with the AUSTIN POPS
ORCHESTRA under the direction of Jamie Desautels. She performs most
often with her jazz quartet at the Elephant Room
and at many other venues.
